National Association of Conservation Districts
NACD's mission is to serve conservation districts by providing national leadership and a unified voice for natural resource conservation.
509 Campaign - Phase 1
The primary improvements listed below will be made during Phase One of the Campaign and will require an estimated $280,000 and will include all building repairs and enhancements. Repairs and renovations will begin in fall 2007 if enough funds to start the process have been raised.
Primary Improvements

- Expanded Conference Room
The current conference room can only seat 10 people comfortably. An expanded conference room is needed for staff functions and to host partner groups.
- Connecting Staircase
A spiral staircase between the lower and main levels would provide a second emergency exit and improve office usability. Staff and visitors currently have to exit and re-enter the building to travel between floors.
- Maximized Workspace Utilization
The headquarters office is home to the majority of NACD's staff and functions. The new design will use our space more efficiently and provide a usable workspace for visiting staff, officers and contractors.
- Improved Energy Efficiency
The windows will be replaced to improve energy efficiency and combat rising energy costs.
- General Updates
General updates are needed such as new carpet and paint. Some of the carpet has not been replaced since the building was built and is faded and torn. Other general maintenance issues that need addressed are an outdated security system and warped and damaged exterior doors. - Bathroom Renovations
Updates to the bathrooms will include plumbing repairs and basic necessary improvements
