Pack-a-Book Community Outreach Project
NACD 2009 Annual Meeting • February 1 - 4, 2009 • New Orleans, LA
NACD is coordinating its second annual “Pack a Book” community outreach project. This project will leave a lasting impression on New Orleans, Louisiana following NACD’s 63rd Annual Meeting. You can participate by packing a book(s) to donate to local schools in the New Orleans area. Our feature topic is Soils and this fits in with the 2009 NACD Stewardship theme “Dig It! The Secrets of Soil.”
The list linked below contains book suggestions. Feel free to bring a favorite book on natural resources/conservation to share with students. Books must be in good condition—either new or gently used—and be appropriate for student use.
NACD will place labels containing the donor’s name in each book. To assist NACD in creating the labels, please write your name, county, city and state on a piece(s) of paper before you come to the conference and place a paper inside each book you donate.
Books can be donated at the Stewardship and Education Exhibit in the Conservation Expo throughout the conference. To view Conservation Expo hours, please see the Conservation Expo page.
