National Winner: Butler Soil and Water Conservation District - Ohio
The Butler Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) prides itself in collaborating with partners to address watershed programs, construction site erosion and sediment control programs, water quality monitoring, river cleanup and wetland projects. Butler SWCD takes the time to know the community and its natural resources and all of the players involved. The District uses this knowledge to bring stakeholders to the table and craft win-win situations for all involved, increasing natural resource conservation awareness and benefitting the community. A few of Butler SWCD’s partnerships include the Beckett Ridge Homeowners’ Association, Butler County Engineers Office, Butler Storm Water District, Ground Masters Landscaping Company, YMCA Camp Campbell Guard, Butler county Sheriff’s Office, Fort Hamilton Hospital and Friends of the Great Miami River.
