While you are in Washington, take in D.C.’s many summertime activities like concerts by military bands, the National Mall, museums, bus tours and more. Below is a sampling of activities to complete your trip.
Concerts
The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force bands perform in the evening on alternating days at a variety of destinations throughout the summer. Concert locations typically include Navy Memorial, U.S. Capitol Building, Washington Memorial and Air force Memorial. By Land or by Sea?
The D.C. Ducks tours depart from Union Station every 30 minutes, the 90 minute tour travels through D.C. in original WWII DUKW amphibious vehicles. The fully narrated tour covers the National Mall, museums and monuments and then drives straight into the Potomac for a river cruise before returning to land and back to Union Station. Tour Washington, D.C. On Your Time
Hop-On-Hop-Off Open-Top Double-Decker Bus Tour is an extremely versatile tour that stops at 25 locations including the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Museums, Spy museum, the White House, National Cathedral, National World War Two Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Botanical Garden and the Supreme Court. Tickets can be purchased for either 24 or 48 hours with the hop-on-hop-off flexibility allowing you to create your own tour.
