Hear from dynamic and informed conservation leaders in the federal government at NACD's 2009 Legislative Conference. An exciting line up of speakers includes:

Dave White, Chief, U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service
Dave White was named Chief of the Natural Resources Conservation Service this past March. Dave began his 32-year career with NRCS as a conservation aid in Missouri. Subsequently, he has served the agency in South Carolina, Montana and its Washington, D.C. headquarters.

Anne Castle, Assistant Secretary for Water and Science, U.S. Department of the Interior (invited)
The Assistant Secretary for Water and Science oversees the U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Reclamation in the Department of the Interior.

Ned Farquhar, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Lands and Minerals Management, U.S. Department of the Interior
The Lands and Minerals Managment office oversees management of public lands and resources, including production of federal energy and mineral resources, both onshore and on the Outer Continental Shelf.

Larry Elworth, Agriculture Advisor to the Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
As Agriculture Advisor, Mr. Elworth provides counsel to the U.S. EPA Administrator regarding policy that impacts farm communities.

Paul Ries, Director, Cooperative Forestry, U.S. Forest Service
In his capacity as Director of Cooperative Forestry, Mr. Ries works with States, private landowners, and other partners to promote healthy forests and livable communities throughout the United States.

Bill Hohenstein, Director, Global Change Program Office, U.S. Department of Agriculture
Located within the USDA Office of the Chief Economist, Mr. Hohenstein provides coordination and policy development support for the Department's global change program.

Ann Mills, Deputy Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment, U.S. Department of Agriculture (invited)
Ms. Mills has responsibility for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the federal agency with primary responsibility for working with private landowners in conserving, maintaining and improving their natural resources.
