NCDEA Shutdown Procedures
This document was developed by the National Conservation District Employees Association (NCDEA) a few years ago to help districts ensure they are prepared in the event of a federal government shutdown. We ask that you please share this message with your districts.
Unlock the Secrets in the Soil
The resources in the soil health section of the NRCS website are designed to help visitors understand the basics and benefits of soil health – and to learn about Soil Health Management Systems from farmers who are using those systems.

"Did You Know" is a monthly email containing interesting facts and anecdotes, compiled by NACD's District Operations and Member Services Committee.
Working with Conservation Districts: A Guide for Military Installations (PDF, 1.66MB)
This Primer is designed to help Department of Defense officials and military base commanders gain a better understanding of how conservation districts operate in making land-use and other natural resources decisions that may affect military operations, as well as to facilitate communications and potential collaboration among stakeholders on encroachment issues. The primer is part of a series designed in cooperation with DoD's Range Sustainment Initiative.
Designed with conservation district needs in mind, these guides provide helpful hints for district activities ranging from building an effective board to establishing effective relationships with lawmakers.
Computers for Districts
Computer workstations identical to those purchased under the USDA contract are available to conservation districts and RC&D Councils direct from the current USDA contractor. A new district computer purchased through the USDA contractor may be made CCE compatible and connected to the USDA network without cost to the district.
District Official Training Program Recognition
NACD's District Officials State Training Recognition Program, established in the spring of 2010, recognizes states that have developed and implemented a statewide district official training program.
