Why We Do What We Do
We know the world is hungry for skilled leaders who can understand and manage the complex challenges we face as land stewards and conservationists. We have both an obligation and opportunity to enable the next generation of youth to be informed leaders, people who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage our natural resources with the future in mind. This work is both meaningful and essential in these challenging times.
The National Conservation Foundation exists to build these leaders of tomorrow through meaningful programming and an avenue for supporters to give philanthropically. The two programs that the foundation currently runs are the NCF-Envirothon and the Next Generation Leadership Institute.
The Foundation’s mission rests on the belief that conservation is delivered best through local decision-making. At the same time, NCF understands the incredible power that rests in grassroots efforts that rise to a national level. No other organization is as fitting to carry out the work they have set out to do in equipping grassroots conservation leaders on a national level.
What You Can Do
If you are unfamiliar with the work of the Foundation, that’s okay! Take some time to look into our programs, the NCF-Envirothon and the Next Generation Leadership Institute. Consider volunteering with a local or state Envirothon program.
Consider giving to the Foundation. We can’t do this without you.
