Does any one have a Locally Led Conservation training for district supervisors you wouldn't mind sharing?
Hi Kristy,
Traditionally, we have provided a series of in-person trainings to new district supervisors (in Wisconsin, they are land conservation committee members ("LCCs")/county supervisors, as we are a bit different than the district model, but the principle is the same) to orient them to their new position.
In 2020, we adapted the content of those formerly in-person trainings to a virtual/recorded format, which we now house on our website, here: https://wisconsinlandwater.org/members-hub/county-staff. I am not sure the balance between in-person and online training resources going forward, but it's a question I'm grappling with right now.
We also provide new LCC members with a handbook to help orient them to their new position, which I've attached.

Hi Kristy! You probably already know this because you guys have been awarded the NACD District Official Training Program Award along with a ton of other states, but NASCA and NACD have webpages of modules and programs submitted by those states that also received the award. NASCA recently organized theirs, and it's a LOT better as they're now organized by subject/modules rather than by state. here's the link to that https://www.nascanet.org/resources/district-training/. Not all of the states have submitted their programs to NACD, or else maybe they aren't able to be posted online, so only a few have links to theirs, but here's the NACD webpage with what states have been awarded and some with links to their programs https://www.nacdnet.org/general-resources/district-officials-training-program-recognition/. Hope that helps!
Thank you for your response to this. Unfortunately I got an error message when I used the link you provided. Would really love to access this content.
