Massachusetts’ Kim LaFleur
Selected as NACD President-Elect

ORLANDO – Today, the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Board of Directors elected Kim LaFleur of Plympton, MA to serve as the association’s President-Elect. She will serve a one-year term as President-Elect alongside current NACD President Michael Crowder, and will assume the role of NACD President in 2023.

“Kim brings valuable knowledge and experience to both conservation and leadership,” said NACD President Michael Crowder. “Her ascent to this position brings with it a significant new perspective to the role and organization and I have no doubt she will make long-lasting impacts that advance the conservation movement. I’m proud to serve beside her and look forward to an NACD led by Kim.”

LaFleur has served NACD in a number of roles since 2007, including as a board member, executive board member, and most recently as an officer as NACD’s First Vice President. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Professionally, she is the State Advisor and Program Director for the Massachusetts FFA Association, part of the nation’s largest agricultural youth leadership development organization. She also serves as the Board Chair of the Plymouth County Conservation District. LaFleur lives on her family’s cranberry farm along with her husband, Jeff, and sons, Cameron and Logan.

“I have served NACD for 15 years and I am grateful for the opportunity to take the helm and move the organization and its mission forward in new innovative ways,” said NACD President-Elect Kim LaFleur. “As we continue to promote the conservation message, it’s critical to elevate the importance of representation within conservation districts to amplify diverse voices. I look forward to meeting this position head on and continuing to work collaboratively with my fellow officers, board members, and conservation districts.”

LaFleur will be sworn in as President in February 2023 at NACD’s 77th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.
