Professor Joaquín A. Chong, Agricultural Experimental Station, University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, will be discussing the development of the project “Increasing the Resilience of Agroecosystems to Climate Change by Combining Soil Conservation and Rainwater Harvesting Practices” sponsored by USDA – AFRI adapted to the sustainability of the mountain. The project involves the treatment of the land to increase the life of the soil with different coverts, use and production of bio-coal, water retention and movement in addition to contour planting, among other topics. In addition, we will be talking about how to increase the effectiveness of the work using light tractor-motors.
